Kaiapoi Automotive Services

Established in 1999, Kaiapoi Automotive Services is Kaiapoi’s largest mechanical repairs workshop.​

As an MTA member and MTA Warranty Authorised Repairer, we also Service and repair all new and late-model cars to manufacturer specs—you don’t have to take your car to the brand dealer. Kaiapoi Automotive Services is also an Autosure Authorised Service and Repair Agent.​

Free Local Pickup & Drop Off

Kaiapoi Automotive Services provides free local pickup and dropoff for customers: in Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Woodend, Belfast and Northwood.

Modern Courtesy Cars

We have three modern, clean Courtesy Cars which you can book ahead, or if a car is available when you arrive, we’ll arrange one for you on the spot.

Meet the Kaiapoi Automotive Team

Gavin McDonald

— Managing Director
Gavin is a fully qualified Automotive Technician and Certified WOF Inspector. He has owned Kaiapoi Automotive Services since 1999 and began working in the automotive industry in 1983 (on the same site here in Kaiapoi, since 1986). Gavin’s extensive training and experience in all aspects of the industry, includes diesel management systems, scan tool diagnostics and Trade Certification in Automotive Engineering.​

Miranda Mulder

— Office Administrator

Miranda has been at Kaiapoi Automotive Services since Sept 2022, managing our Reception and Office. Miranda is born and bred Kaiapoi and is happy to be working back in her hometown.

Luke Panasiuke

— Apprentice

Luke has been on our team since Sept 2023 when he started serving his apprenticeship here.

Calum Mackay

— Head Technician

Calum has been on the team since 2016 when he started as an apprentice and is now a fully qualified Automotive Technician and certified WOF inspector.


Self appointed 2IC, Calum is always good for a laugh!

Azi Herdman

— Senior Apprentice

Azi has been with us since Jan 2023 when he started his apprenticeship with us.
